Advent: The God Who is Near

In Advent we recognize the nearness of God in many ways. He came near to our humanity; He remains near to us in the Spirit; and His kingdom has come and is coming near. This demands a courageous hope that looks through the darkness, laments times of felt distance, and yet participates in the ongoing work of light overtaking darkness.
